Siuslaw from 1B Linn (61), Siuslaw (68), North Bend (116), Philomath (124), Bandon (127), Churchill (176), Roseburg (213) and Toledo (257). In the boys race, freshman Murray Bingham made his first appearance in the home invita- tional, leading the Vikings with a 15th-place individual finish in 17:53.8, followed by sophomores Isaac Griffes in 30th (18:31.2) and Kyle King in 35th (18:47.0), junior Sean Burns in 52nd (19:23.0) and senior Tyler Williams in 55th (19:30.0). Other finishers for the Viks included Jack Pickell in 74th (20:04.9) and Jordan Northrop in 89th (24:59.0). In team scoring, the day belonged to West Linn, whose team claimed the first three fin- ishes and a school record of 43 points for first place. Bandon and South Eugene were both 55 points away in a tie for for second place with 98, fol- lowed by Churchill (131), Elmira (150), Brookings-Harbor (165), Newport (174), North bend (175), Siuslaw (181), Roseburg downs. Mitchell had 98 yards on 15 carries, including a touch- down. Cade Clawson had 12 yards on four carries, and Nick Steinman had 10 yards on five carries. Gordon had eight receptions for 75 yards, including a 35-yard TD catch. Trent Reavis had a fumble recovery and Brogan Cornish had a one-yard reception against the Lancers. The win moved Siuslaw up to No. 10 in the OSAA’s rankings for the 4A division, with the Vikings (1-0 in league) on the road at North Bend (1-0) this Friday. Kickoff is 7 p.m. (273), Willamette (314) and Toledo (394). The Lancers managed to avoid the shutout with less than two minutes to go, on a 23-yard scamper by sophomore tight end Jonathan Warner. Football The senior running back carried the ball 19 times for 101 yards and two touchdowns in last week’s Far West League opening victory over South Umpqua.
