Shrock served as director of mind-body-medicine for a Presented by the Siuslaw News physicians’ management group of 40 cancer centers. He developed and researched a wellness program which he taught to thousands of cancer patients and their families. Schrock’s published book, “Doctor’s Orders: Go Fishing,” details this program and the insights he gained while teaching it. Can you imagine going to the doctor and the doctor writ- ing you a prescription to go fishing or whatever else brought you great joy? That’s what Schrock did with his patients and they loved it. His patients were liv- ing much longer than those getting only conventional medical treatment. Shrock’s attempt to instill a will to live made his patients feel listened to, cared for and supported — all core aspects of love. “When we experience love, we resonate with this funda- mental essence of who we are,” said Shrock. “Our bod- ies respond with decreased stress and resistance and allows for a greater flow of this life force energy. Health is a natural consequence. This is why love heals. We have to treat the mind, body and spir- it.” Shrock’s workshop will be interactive and attendees will discover: • How scientific discover- ies affect health and well- being • How emotional states affect wellness and disease • How to apply this infor- mation in ones own life for family, clients, co-workers and ourselves This all day workshop is $89.
