Local Notes. M. S. Corrigall was in from Bat ter creek Friday. 8. E. Carr was an incoming pas senger Monday. Q. W. Maxwell was in from HardmaD, yesterday, Mr. and Mr a. John Turley were incoming passengers Monday even ing. The county court will meet in regular session Weduetday of next week. Mr. and Mr. Dan Barlow, of Eight Mile, attended tbe K. of P. anniversary' ezetcises' Tuesday evening. Mrs. 8. E. Van Vactor was op . rated on for appendicitis at tbe Heppcer Sanitarium Thursday evening last, hne is improving rapidly. John Garrity was in from Eight Mile jesterday. Mr. Garrity has rented his ranch to Til Williams and informs the Gazette that he intends to retire from active work. Mrs. W. W. Ames, of Bay Cen ter, SVaah., was an incoming pas senger Monday evening. She came to visit her daughter Mrs. S E. VanVactor who is sick. The Standard bearers of the M. Bert Allen, who for many years lived at the Allen station south of Hardman, was over from Wheeler countv the first of the week. Paul Ilisler is building a big sheep shed at his ranch on the bead of Little Butter creek and is making preparations for the lamb ing season. T. J. Mahoney, S. I. Stratton and wife, Emit Johnson and 'Mr. Colliver were up from lone Tues day evening to attend the K. of P. anniversary celebration. With assets amounting to $48,- 300 and liabilities aggregating $44,863.91, Lee Teutsch, of Pen dleton, baa gone into bankruptcy and T. C. Taylor is now receiver, ad interim. Sunday evening, Feb. 23, the Knights of Pythias attended ser vices as an order at the M. E church, South, where they listened to a very ablf sermon by the Rev. Orr. A splendid school is being taught by Mine Edith Bheppard at Eight Mile center. We are glad to learn that James Knigbten is again able to be up, after having had a severe attack ot grip. Politics is warming up in this section, and tbe matter of who is going to get tbe nomination for tbe different offices is the topic for discussion generally.
