Owing to the fact that it will take at least two weeks more, and possibly longer to harvest Morrow county's great wheat crop, it is hard to get at an estimate that is really accurate of the yield this season. There is no question but what the yield will be much greatet than ever before in the history of the county. The farmers them selves have underestimated the yields of their crops. This is shown by the fact that there is a general demand for more sacks than first contracted for from almost every section. Some people estimate the total yield in Morrow county at 2,000,000 bushels, The Gazette is of the opinion that this estimate is a little too high and will fal short probably a couple of hundred thousand bushels. With prices today of 77 cents for club and 80 cents per bushel for choice blue stem the crop of 1,800.000 bushels will bring a lare sum of money which means unprecedented prop erty for all The prevailing weather for the present month is about all that could be desired. The unusual scarcity of labor, the lack of harvesting machinery to harvest a heat crop that has gone far ahead of the most sanguine expectations, has made the harvest very late. Now that we have been forced with such a long working season, every thing will be saved in good order. Dr. and Mrs. Winoard and children were passengers for Tort- land Saturday.
