Page 10 Spilyay Tymoo, Warm Springs, Oregon April 13, 2 006 Howlak Tichum Lasco Gilbert The Rootdigger statue outside the administration building is more visible now, thanks to some landscaping work by the Utilities Department. Lasco Gilbert passed away April 3, 2006 of natural causes. He was 81 years. Mr. Gilbert was born Sep tember 30,1924 at Simnasho to parents James and Susan (Schoolie) Gilbert. He was m arried to Juanita Gilbert. Mr. Gilbert was a lifetime resident of Warm Springs. He served in the U.S. Army from 1943 to 1946. Mr. Gilbert is survived by his children Sandra Clements and Tony Gilbert, both of George Aguilar Jr. and crew trimmed back the bushes around the statue, and also shaped up the shrubs around the front of the administration building.
