Frank Saunders who is employed is Carpenter of the mechanical de partment, left Friday to visit his mother, whom he has not seen in several years. As a farewell to J. G. Robbins. Miss Viona Parazzo gave a dinner partt to several of her friends on Friday evening. Von Winkler will assume the duties o depot agent during Mr. Luce's ab sence. August 14. when a number of their friends dropped in on them for a social evening. The evening was spent in playing games and a good time was enjoyed by all. HEKMISTON, Aug. 24. J. C. Bar- I ham. well known project farmer, died Monday evening at his home aft er a lingering illness from tuberculo sis. Funeral services were conduct ed yesterday from the home with Rev. T. A. Graham of the Methodist church officiating, and burial was in the Hermiston cemetery. The pall bearers were F. A. Brunson. Paul MiPer, o. A. Kellar and Leo Clark. Mr Rarham was born in Erie. Penn., January 29th. 1S63. He held the position of receiving c!erk fnr the Griswold Manufacturing Company of Erie for 23 years and came here from that city seven years ago. He it turvived by his wife and son and! two sisters.
