A dainty two course luncheon was serv ed by the hostess, assisted toy Mrs. Rowland. Two members were re ported to be stele and bouquets ot carnations were sent them. One of the most enjoyable dances of the season was given in Eagle Woodman Hall last evening by the United Artisans for their members), friends and families. Mrs. Myron Reyn olds startled the crowd when she ap peared in a Hawaiian costume for her dip in the ocean. There is no record that she went into the ocean, but she did go on the beach, and she was a Veroine. M Warren has returned from Hot Lake where she went In company with Mr Warren who la still taking treatment at the sanitarium. W. B. Rhodes, who has been spend ing the winter in the vicinity of Arl ington, waa In town today on his way to Pilot Rock where he will remain through the summer. AKKOPT-ANKS IN RAID. LONDON, Feb. 28. The udmiralty announced that aeroplanes raided the Brebach Ironworks Sunday. There were several air battles. One Ger man machine was destroyed. HIGH SCHOOL NEWS In assembly this morning Virgil Fendall announced there would be a meeting of all men interested In track this evening. Arnold Reed, track manager, also spoke. He urged all prospective track men and especially freshmen to at tend the meeting. The eastern Oregon track meet Is to be held here this year and as the !fal hih school has taken this meet thi- lat two years great efforts are bring made to develop a team that will carry off the champlonrmip again this year. Since the cadet work in the high school has been discontinued the money that the boys sent away for uii! forms has been refunded. Dispose the steak on a hot, well-buttered plank, pipe a broad mil of hot mashed po tato? around the edge of the plank, using pastry t and tube, brunn liirhtly over with slightly beaten eKff yolk, diluted with 1 tablespoon milk. Then set the plank In a hot oven to 'brown and reheat the potato and to finish cooking the steak. Remove from the oven and fill the apace be tween the steak and the potato with tomatoes. Muffed with ereol rice. Spread the steak with maltre d'hotel butter and garnish the top with smothered mushrooma TAVIOCA CILKAM FEB. Make a rich pie crust, bake and let cool. Killing as foUowIng: One and one-half eupa of milk, heated to boiling, 1 cup of tapioca. Cook in milk 10 minutes, 1-1 cup or granulated sugar, t egg yolka (save whites for meringue); Juice of 1-t lemon, pinch of salt, 1 teaspoonful of butter. Oook about 10 minutes, let cool, and fill the baked crust Beat the two whites very stiff for meringue and add two tablespoons of granulat ed sugar. Spread over top of pie and make a delicate brown. RRJRAD AND BITTKB PUDDING. Four slices of bread buttered on both sides 1 pint of milk, yolk of J eggs, 1 cup sugar, 4 drops Pnoa ex tract.
