The sermon Sunday evening preach ed by Mr. Warren, the presiding el aer, in tne Methodist church, was very interesting. People from the country attending included Mr. and Mrs. Christopher and Mr. and Mrs. Jesse Hales. Mrs. Lee Cowger, sister of Mrs. Jamea Cheanut, who haa been vlalt ing her sister for over a month start ed on her way to Iowa Wednesday morning. Mr. Londell, the band Instructor of Athena, was In Adams Monday and met with his pupils Monday eve ning for practice. Mr. and Mrs. Cliff Stone have been spending a few days with Mrs. Stone's mother. The Baptist chapel car will arrive In Adams this week, with Mr. and Mrs. Driver. The first of the meet ings will be held Wednesday evening In the car, which will be placed near the depot. Everybody Is Invited to come, and a good, Interesting and beneficral time is promised. Frank Krebs was in town Monday. Mrs. Jamea Chesnut accomoanled her hlster, Mrs. Lee Cowger, to Pen dleton Wednesday. Roy Ferguson, who resides about a mile and a half from Adams, waa In town Monday evening. Christmas will soon be here and the people of Adams are busy pre paring for the holidays. Among those who will be the most busy are the four teachers. It fell upon the teach ers to arrange for the Christmas pro gram, which has always been a suc cess. T. B. Simpson and family motored to Pendleton to do some shopping. Fred Hendrickson and E. Wester sund motored to the county seat for the purpose of trading. The farmers west of Adams are busy burning their stubble, so their ground will be ready for spring work. Abe Molstrom has completed a new barn. He drove to Pendleton this week to do some trading. Henry Hudeman and wlfo motored to Pendleton this week. C. L. Woodward la plowing, his al falfa field and Is going to sow wheat In the place of It J. O. Halea and family motored to Pendleton Saturday to do some shoD- Ping. Henzell, a Centralla railroad man. was Saturday made defendant in a divorce suit filed In the Lewis county superior court by Josephine Henzell, who alleges cruelty. According to the woman's complaint, Henzell struck her and repeatedly accused her wrongly.
