Zeb Lewis and Earl Simonton left Tuesday for Portland to take in the sights of the city for a, few weeks. ATHENA NEWS NOTES. ADAMS NEWS NOTES. - (Special Correspondence.) Odams, Ore., Dec. 11. T. C. Itied has traded his hotel at Adams for 180 acres of Improved land at Idaho, to Mr. Window. Mr. Uied will go on his ranch in a few days and Mr. and Mrs. Window and family arrived in Adams Friday and took charge of the hotel on Saturday and will do their best to please the public. Earl Simonton of Pendleton was a visitor in this city Saturday. Mrs. G. E. Merltt of Athena was an Adams visitor Saturday. Ivan Blyake went to Athena Sat urday. The young people of Adams gave a farewell party in honor of Jack Mylonie on Tuesday evening at the Woodman hall. Those present were Herbert and Ethel and Minnie Perln ger. Earl and Alice Simonton, Zeb Lew's and Miss Schavlie, Chester Spencer and Jerry Chestnut, Gay Mablonie, Gertrude Wallace, Otis Lleuallen and Augusta Stockton. They played games and had a fine time. The Weston Basketball team and the Milton high school team met at the Weston opera house on Friday, December 6, and played a very interesting game which resulted in a crushing defeat for Mil ton high. The score was 26 to 9 Mr. Compton was the star of the Wes ton team. The Weston lineup was Blomgren, Proebstel and Compton forwards; Smith and Lleuallen. guards. Turner, center, and Proebstel and Klrkpatrick substitutes. The Milton lineup was Sykes arid Looff, forwards; Smith, center; Porter and Saeger, guards. Mr. Earl Storm, formerly a Weston normal basket ball player, now coach ing the Milton teams, was a visitor in Weston during the week. Mrs. James Klrkpatrick was a vis itor in Athena during the w'eek. Mr. Jeff Perier of Weston mountain was in this city on business on Sat urday. Mr. James Navin of Helix, is in Weston visiting relatives.
