Notice Is hereby given that at a regular meeting of the Common Cornell of The City of Pendleton held oa March 27th, 1912, the following resolutions were adopted: Waereas, the Surveyor of The City of Pendleton, did on the 20th day of Mareh, 1912, under direction and by requirement of the Common Council file plans and specifications for an appropriate Improvement . of Court street, in The City of Pendleton from Byors' mill race to the eastern limits of Mid City; together with the esti mates of the work to be done and the probably cost thereof, with a state ment of the lots, parts of lots and parcels of land to be benefited by such improvement, and the percent age of the total cost of improvement which each of such lots, parts of lots and parcels of land should pay on account of the benefits to be derived from such improvement; and Whereas, the Council has examined such plans and specifications and found the same satisfactory and the estimates therefor to be in accordance with the probable coat of such work; and Whereas, the property recommended by the City Surveyor to bo included within the boundaries of the district benefited is, In the Judgment of the Common council, properly to be In cluded within such improvement dis trict, and no property is excluded therefrom which Bhould properly be included therein; and Whereas, the improvement of the hereinbefore described portion of said Court street by macadamizing the same is at this time necessary; therefore, be it Resolved, by the Common . (From Tuesday '8 Journal.) Five loads of Idaho Falls steers sold this afternoon at $6.70, which is con sidered a very good price for such a bunch. The animals averaged about 1100 pounds. J. C. Lonergan, the local seller who brought forward the shipment, to gether with Erhardt & McKlnley, says that he has one shipper alone who is feeding 1500 head at Twin Falls which will come to this market in big lots. The great strength of the livestock market throughout the country is at tracting much attention from killers well as producers. Surely, slow but sure, the cost of living is advancing again, so far as meats are concerned and the outlook for the future would Indicate a still higher range all around. The wonderful showing in the hog trade throughout the United States has stimulated killers and packers to purchase everything that is offered with the least possible delay. Every where except on the Pacific coast runs are so much smaller than a year ago that killers are really frightened. Lncnlly there was a very good show ing of hogs in the yards today. A to tal of 578 head was received compar ed with 342 last Tuesday.
