APOSTOLIC AS TO BONNETS. Son Women Won't Remove Head gear In Churches, Quoting Paul. Allentown, Pa. The Rev. George A. Grelss, pastor of St. Paul's Lu thern church, created a stir at the opening of the services when he re- uested women members of the con gregation to remove their hats dur ing the hour of worship. "The la dles may leave their hats In the Sun day school room," he said. Immediately there was a rustic of millinery, and a survey of the con gregation showed that all except six women had complied with the order. One of these declared that she would refuse to remove her hat at any time, citing the admonition of Paul the Apostle, that women should not appear in churches with uncov ered heads. C. Dated March 16th, 1912. THOS FITZ GERALD, WANT Real Estate, Investments, For Sale, REAL ESTATE-INVESTMENTS FIVE MILLIONS FOR ROADS AND TRAILS SKED I OK BY THE MINISTER OF PUBLIC WORKS IN 1. C. In an address at a convention of road superintendents held in B. C. the Hon. Thos. Taylor, Minister of Public Works, speech was the feature. He explained the desire of the Government to tiring ahout the very best results In its system of road building. He aroused the greatest enthusiasm when he announced his intention of asking the legislature at its present session to appropriate $5,000,000 for road and trail construction in B. C. approaching the Cariboo District. This is a district with which many of the gentlemen here hav? the privilege of a considerable acquaintance and many are well aware of the riches of the Fraser as you approach the Quesnel country and the Fort George section. There have been farms successfully oper ated and long since flourishing along the bench lands of the upper Fraser river. There are many pioneers as well as old residents along the banks of this mighty stream who went there in the early sixties, end despite the disadvantages they encountered and especially the very great difficulties with regard to transportation, they have been successful and many of them have accumulated splendid competen cies through their farming and stock raising operations. Their in vestments which have been so successful under the conditions which they were compelled to meet will give you an idea of what is in store for settlers who will pour into that wonderful land in the near future. I was very much struck in traveling through that country from Soda Creek to Fort George. I was very much impressed with the wonderful extent of excellent farm land that is to be found on either side of the .Fraser River. This land, as any one may see who takes a trip through that country, Ls almost limitless in quantity, and is of excellent quality. As you go up from Ornesnel no one can hesitate in the conclusion to which he will come as to what lies before that country when there Is more development, because from the appearance of the farms th?.t have been there for fourty or fifty years and from the abundance of the crops which have been raised, we can see that experimentation has been carried to such an extent as to disclose the fact to the peo ple that we have a splendid heritage for an agricultural community in this creat Vnrth. Tjiiirt of British Coldmhln.. As you approach Fort George you find a wonderful section of country at the Junction of the Nechaeco River with the Fraser at or near Fort George. There the scene is most pleasing to the eye. On my trip to Fort George I visited one of the town sites, from where we secured an excellent view of the Upper Fraser and the long reach of the Nechaeco River. Here is a marvelous country and one which with Just a little more development of transportation will, even in dependent of its agricultural resources, make the lower section ot British Columbia look well to Its laurels.
