EIGHT PAGES. DAILY EAST OREGONIAN, PENDLETON, OREGON, MONDAY, JANUARY 29, 1912. PAGE MEYEH. o OLD SORES Before any sore can heal, the cause which produces it must be removed. As long as the blood, from which our systems receive their necessary nour ishment and strength, remains impure and contaminated with disease germs, any old sore on the body will remain open, and resist every effort made to heal it. The nerves and tissues of the flesh around the places are continu ally fed with unhealthy matter and nature is simply disposing of the poison by draining it from the system through the sore. The only cure for an old sore is a thorough cleansing of the blood, entirely ridding the 6ystem of the cause. S. S. S. heals old 6ores by removing every particle of impurity from the circulation. It goes down to the very bottom of the trouble and so com pletely cleanses the circulation that there is no longer any impurity to drain through the sore, but the place is once more nourished with rich, health ful blood. S. S. S. heals the sore from the bottom, the place soon' fills in with healthy, firm flesh, the tenderness leaves, all discharge cease8, the chin regains its natural color and when S. S. S. has thoroughly cleansed and Eurified the blood the place is permanently healed. Book on Sores and leers and any medical advice free to all who write. THE SWIFT SPECIFIC CO.. ATLANTA. GA. DON'T PULL OUT THE GRAY HAIRS "Pull out one gray hair and a doz en will take its place" is an old say ing, which is, to a great extent, true, if no steps are taken to stop the cause. hen gray hairs appear it is a sign that Nature needs assistance It Is Nature's call for help. Gray hair, dull, lifeless hair, or hair that is falling out, is not necessarily a sign of advancing age, for there are thou sands of elderly people with perfect heads of hair without a single streak of gray. When gray hairs come, or when the hair seems to be lifeless or dead, some good, reliable hair restoring treatment should be resorted to at once. Specialists say that one of the best preparations to use is the old- fashioned 'sage tea' which our grandparents used. The best prep aratton of this kind is. Wyeth's Sage and Sulphur Hair Remedy, a prep aratlon of domestic sage and sulphur, scientifically compounded with later discovered hair tonii's and stimplants- the whole mixture oeing carefully balanced and tested by experts. Wyeth's Sage and Sulphur is clean and wholesome and perfectly harm less. It refreshes dry, parched hair removes dandruff and gradually re stores faded or gray hair to Its natural color. Don't delay another minute. Start using Wyeth's Sage and Su'phur a once and see what a difference a few days' treatment will make in your hair. This preparation is offered to the public at fifty cents a bottle and is recommended and sold by special agent, Pendleton Drug Co. bank In Pendleton. JAMES JOHNS, Pres. C. H. MARSH, Sec. In an address at assembly. Presi dent Campbell started a movement towards the eradication of slang and grammatical errors from the vernac ular of the students of the University of Oregon. President Campbell's plan is to have ihe Instructors in the Enelish department record all the common errors In speech on the cam pus and to set the students to watch ing each other's crnversation for the'r occurrence. In his short talk at the assembly hour, President Campbell said: "I do not believe that the language in use. upon the Oregon campus Is in more need of purifying than at other colleges, but undoubtedly much could be gained by doing away with many little errors that creep Into our speech unobserved. By cooperation between the faculty of the English department and the students, it will not be long before the vernacular of the Univcr s'ty will be purified." FUNERAL DIRECTORS. JOHN S. BAKER.
