The little girl later tells her father where she saw the gold and he robs the old man but Is seen and followed. How the lather is saved from disgrace by his little daughter is a most pleasing story. 4. "That Winsome Winnie Smile." Edison. The famous Winsome Winnie is introduced to the motion picture public for the first time on the screen and they will be charmed to make her ecquaintance. Her wnile conquors every one. 5. "No Cooking Allowed." Edison. Whitmore phot and wounded the bear twice when the animal attacked him. Awaiting the coming of the beast he attempted to fire a third shot at close range, when he found the gun empty, and a blow from the rifle barrel had no effect on the infuriated animal. A i-truggie ensued, the bear bringing the hunter to his knees, bad ly mauling him, and would have kill ed him but for the aid given the man by two Scotch terrier pups, which at- Hushing j tacked Hruln and worried him until weakened by the two bullet wounds ijjk ran away to the river, where the carcass was later found, the bear hav ing bled to death. The bear weighed 350 pounds when dressed. The match maker in this picture Is a young English aristocrat with a sense of hu mor. Love moves in cross-cross lines and no one can tell at the beginning or in the middle who is going to mar ry whom. ' This story is fresh and amusing. It Is perfectly produced and makes a delightfully human picture full of humor. This comedy is good, it ought to have a star pasted after it to mark it out. "Kit Carson's Wooing," Sellg. Of all the picturesque stories surround ing the lives of our early frontiers men, none stands out more promi nently than that of Kit Carson's ro mantic marriage to the half breed In dian girl who had saved his life. Murphy, county coroner, was called to Page, Wash., to examine the body of a man found lying near the tracks of the Spokane, Portland & Seattle railway. The head of the man had been sever ed from his body and the legs were cut off below the knees and hips. He was found lying between tho switch points of the main line and the siding at Page.
