PERSONAL MENTION eooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo OSTRICH PROID OF 1XJGS. liird in So Noisy That She May Land ia Jail. Belllngham, Wash. W. F. Wil liams, a resident of Wildwood, a su burb of Bellingham, complained to Chief of Police Llnktns this afternoon that his family has been reduced to a state of nervous collapse by the Incessant cackling of a hen ostrich which laid an egg the day before yes terday and has been making' a noisy and vainglorious exhibition of her self ever since. "I threw a rock nt the ostrich," tialil Williams, "but, of course, that did no Rood, as the big bird simply rammed her head into the sand and let me throw. And you simply have to hit an ostrich In the head to do any good." Chief Linkins advised the man to swear out a warrant for the offending bird and bring her Into court. Tlie big plume producer against which Williams complained is one of a herd of ten recently brought to this city from California. A re markable picture in which wild ani mals, such as Hons, tigers, leopards, elephants, etc., contribute to the realism of the scene. "Zululand" is a full length film, but the interest in It Is so great that it does not appear to be more than half length to the spectator. When the treklng party camp at night, in the trees, two wild, free Hons, come out and rob it of meat. We see a white man chased by Zulu warriors, running fjr dear life and escaping just by the skin of his teeth. Next a battle between tho pursuers and English soldiers who guard a hospital. This fight Is no tame affair I can assure you. Then tho excitement Is heightened by the catching on fire of the hospital build ing. "The Girl of the Mountains," Vita graph.
