Granger to Build Fire Proof Jail. uranger, wasn. ine city council has awarded the contract for build ing a fire-proof Jail to Cast & Phelps of this place. The Jail Is to be built of hollow cement blocks and when the walls are up the blocks are to be filled solid with cement, binding the walls together and making It not only fireproof, but a solid wall so that no blocks could be removed. Recount Vote on Sheriff. Pasco, Wash. Whether T. V. Davis will continue to be sheriff of Benton county or J. W. Hays succeeds him In office will be decided by Judge Kennan of Spokane. In all probability. Judge Kennan, who ordered the re count by which Hays was declared elected, has cited Davis to appear to show cause why he should not turn over the office to Hays.
