Umatilla County a Happy Theme for Discussion, Several Pendleton people ave In town today, and they tell a story of prosperity In that part of the state. Judge John J. Balleray, who Is -here on legal business, said: "Conditions In Umatilla county are Ideal in most respects. Wheat today is selling at 60 cents a bushel for the club variety, and probably all has been sold in the county excepting about 750,000 bushels. 'Sixty cents a bushel for wheat means a good margin of profit to the Igrower, who has usually sold his wheat for less than 50 cents, although at 50 cents there is a fair profit." Besides Judge Balleray, John Mc Court, T. G. Halley and C. H. Carter, attorneys of Pendleton, are In the city. Mr. Haley is accompanied by Mrs. Halley. Mr. Hailey Is mayor of Pendleton as well as being district attorney of the sixth judicial dlstrlcL comprising Umatilla and Morrow counties. There will bo 59 classes for exhibition cats, 27 of which will be for long-haired cats, 2C for loug-haired kittens, and 6 for kltttens.
