David Mc Millan, aged G5 years, died at the county poor farm yesterday, of paral ysis. McMillan had been paralyzed In his lower limbs for eight years, and had been practically helpless all that time. He came here from Can ada, and had no relatives in this country, so far as ar.y one here knows. His case wts a sad one In deed, yet he bore up with fortitude to the last. The will of Colonel A. J. Puffer, the wealthy farmer who recently died, leaving a large estate and no children, was tiled in the superior court yesterday. All the personal property goes to Mrs. Puffer, and the real estate is her's during her life time. After her death the land is to be divided between a number of sis ters, nephews and nieces. J. L. Sharpstein, a local attorney, is nam ed as administrator without bond. The estate consists of large tracts of wheat lands and personal property in this county and other parts of the; state. Odd Fellows Keep Busy, Des Moines, la., Sept. 1C Tlio pub lie was excluded from today's session of tho Sovereign Grand Lodge of Odd Fellows In accordance with custom, but tho visitors found sufficient to occupy their attention. At tho state fair grounds the Patriarchs hold a dress parade and made a royal show in the presence of a crowd that thronged and overflowed the grand stands. At tonight's big reunion of past grand representatives there, will be an Interesting program of music and addresses, tho latter to include addresses by Robert T. Daniel, of Georgia, and Hon. F. W. Lehman, of St. Louis. Visitors from many parts of Iowa and neighboring states con rtinue to arrive and It Is anticipated that fully 75,000 strangers will be In the city tomorrow to view the grand parade. H. Piatt. The opening session was occupied with the work of organization and the opening addresses. The nomina tions, which include a candidate for governor and other state offices to be filled this fall, will not I10 reached until tomorrow. Tho withdrawal of Gov. McLean, who would have headed tho ticket without opposition had his health permitted him to accept the nomination, has led to tho suggestion of numerous possibilities.
