Democrats and Populists Conterred as to the Course to Be Pursued Today. Friday night, the democrats at the court house met in DOOtl 100000, and the populists in secret caucus at the office of J . T. Rlnkle, The object at each was to confer regarding the course to la' pursued today in the county otrnventlOOl, The populists went over the ground carefully and discussed the aitimtion with reference to union with the democrats, but took no action, owing to the fact that only one-third the delegates were present and it waa thought unfair to commit the entire county parly to any stated omrse before the representation was more complete. The spirit of the dotii's'rutic CBUCUI wus indicated by t he proposit ion w inch was made and OIlOHllvel and favor ably discussed, to invite the populist county convention to meet With the democratic from the very first and par ticipate in the election of state dele- gater, as well as in the nomination of the county ticket. The significance of the action may la' judged when ft Is stated that at no time before hud there been Boy pronOOtthM to unite the two convent ions prior to the election by each of state delegates, but the demo eratl in caucus, and there were no le than 1(0 delegates pro-cut, evinced their desire for complete union, bv going the whole distance and asking for ii o in. in the la'ginning. The final upshot of the matter WM that a Committee consisting of T. J. Tweedy, 0, A. Ilartiuan and Frank Mansfield was named to go to that popollef caucus uml extend the invita tion as Indicated, The ootranltteo went ua instructed, and laid the matter be fore the p.. pill ist caucus. However, the populists decided to await the assemb ling of the convention before giving a final answer. Hence, the delegates went to la-d to await deM'lopmcnls today. Editor's Awltil Pllaht. F.
