The en tire system of the Market Streot Rail way has practically been sold to a Baltimore syndicate which has for ev eral months been negotiating- for Its purchase The dead is understood to have been closed at a conferenc be tween H. E. Huntington and I. W. Hell man, representing themselves and oth"T stockholders of the Market Street Rail way Company and George Webb of Baltimore, R. G. H.inford and Attorney General T. L. Ford of this city, repre senting the Baltimore syndicate. The term of the sale are not definitely known. The Call states that J26.000.000 in cash Is to be paid for the property and that the final papers will be signed today. It adds that the syndicate will expend at least J4.000.000 in Improving the property. The Examiner says that the agreed price per share Is believed to be J95. It states that the syndicate has deposited 1250,000 as a forfeit In case it backs out of the agreement to buy, after sixty days which will be al lowed for another examination of the property and books of the company. "The syndicate, ' say the Examiner. '1 to pay cash or offer In payment standard securities adaptable to the sellers. It It takes all of the ISfi.lT shares at !'5 which Is believed to be the actual agreed Price, tt will have to pay J17.&S6.130.
