Pler pont Morgan that he selected James J. Hill, E. H. Harriman, W'llliam Rocke feller. H. McK. Twombly and Samuel Rea to fill the vacancy to be created in the directorate of the Northern Pa cific. This announcement was made by Mr. Morgan In a formal letter addressed to J. P. Morgan 4 Co., Kuhn Loeb Co.. E. H. Harrimen and J. J. Hill. In which he sayi be haa selected five directors to be elected at the next annual meeting of the company. In aoordance with the memorandum signed May 31, by which the composition of the new ooard wa to be left in bis hands. No statement was made public and the reference la the letter to William K. Vanderbltt was jiot explained. At the office of Kuhn. Loeb & Co. and J. P. Morgran ft Co. It was said that the arrangement Indicated In the letter was mutually satisfactory.
