The Push Club has scored another victory In the appointment of H. O. Van Dusen as master fish warden. Mr. Van Dusen had the endorsement of the en tire community as well as of the com mercial bodies of A3torla and hi? elec tion will meet with approval not only here but In other parts of the ;ate. It was most fitting that the center of the Industry should name the warden and the choice of the commission is but ju't recognition of that fact. Iiespectors of the nation's honor and Integrity will rejoice at the president's firm stand on the question of the in dependence of Cuba in his inaugural ad dress found in another column of to day's Astorlan. The greed of mor.jed interests which desired to freely ex ploit the island and the clamor of pol iticians of a cheap order who sought to eain Influence by securing the appoint ment of friends to office in the govern ment of Cuba have been frustrated by the firmness and dignified stand of the president for the fulfillment of our na tional duty and the payment of our solemn pledge to the people of that isl and. At the same time, he does not intend that we shall weakly withdraw and leave the island until our duty to secure the establishment of a per manent government is performed The address is characteristic through out in its dignified and optimistic reci tal of policies which have prevailed throughout his tenure of office and their results. . - ASSESSMENT NOTICE STOKES, P. A good complexion spoils the house work. Mr. J. W. Patterson, night police at .asnut, la., says: In January I had a very bad cold oa my lungs, and used half dozen different cough medicines and prescriptions from two doctors, but grew worse all the time. I finally boucht a bottle of Foley's Honey and Tar and after using two-thirds of it I was entirely cured." CHAS. ROG ERS. Druggist. Until a man falls In love, all girls look alike to him. AFTER LA GRIPPE WHAT? Usually a racking cough and a gen eral feeling of weakness. Foley's Hon ey and Tar is guaranteed to cure the "grippe cough" and make you strong and well. Take no substitutes. CHAS ROGERS, Druggist. Be sure you are right, then go ahead but don t ask a woman. Pneumonia follows la grippe, but never follows the use of Foley s Honey and Tat, the great throat and lung remedy. Take no substitute. CHAS. ROGERS, Druggist. A girl has to be 25 before she is wise enough not to try to be witty. Eugor.e J. Hall, the poet and publish' er, says that one dose of Foley's Honey nd Tar restored his voice when hoarse nets threatened to prevent his lecture at Central Music Hall, Chicago. Noth ing else as good. CHAS. ROGERS, vrugglst. It's a funny thing that you never feel near so sleepy Sunday morning, when you don't have to get up. Hl)'. R. Watts, of. Salem. Mo., writes: 'I have been troubled with kidney dis tal for the last five years and have doctored with all the leading physl' clans and have tried all remedies sug ee.sted without any relief. Finally ; tried Foley's Kidney Cure and less than two bottles completely cured me and I am sound and well." The only people who are really fit to pray are very old bachelors and very little children. CHEAP INSURANCE. Many a man) has been insured against Bright 8 disease, diabetes, or other dan reronp ailment by a fifty cent bottle nf Foley's Kidney Cure. CHAS ROG ERS. Druggist. As soon as a man's liver gets out of order his wife begins to accuse him of havlne no heart. "I had a running sore on my leg for seven years," writes Mrs. Jas. Forest of Chippewa Falls, Wis., "and spent hundreds of dollars in trying to get it healed. Two boxes of Banner Salve en tirely cured It." No other salve so healing. CHAS. ROGERS, Druggist.
