Among other provis ions it places the county seat tempo rarily at Estacada until the people of the new county have an opportun ity 4o vote on the question. It also provides that for representative pur poses the new county will be made a part of the 17th representative dis trict, formerly Clackamas and Mult nomah counties, and a part of the 12th senatorial district, formerly Clackamas county. It also provides that it will be attached to the first horticultural district. Delegate is Censured. Baltimore. The Montana delega tion, one of whose ' members voted against W. J. Bryan for temporary chairman of the democratic national convention last Tuesday, received the following telegram signed by 100 democrats of Butte: "Wire us the name of the traitor In the Montana delegation who voted against Bryan so we can have it for future reference. Also tell him not to come home." M. D. Boardman, 573 West Main street, Helena, Mont., after giving a detail account of his case, says: "I am almost 79 years old and have spent hundreds of dollars for medi cines, but find that I have received more benefit from Foley Kidney Pills than from all other medicines." J. J. McNalr, STAPLES MAKES REPLY. Resignation of A. K. Ware Call for Stern lU-bukc. A few days ago, E. T. Staples re ceived a letter from E. K. Ware of Medford, in which Mr. Ware ten dered his resignation as chairman of the republican couuty committee. The letier is said to have cast soma reflections upon the nominee of the republican convention at Chicago and incidentally upon those whose judgment would lead them to follow the fortunes of Mr. Taft. Mr. Sta ples, bi.ing supporter of Taft, took occasion to hand it back to Mr. Ware in his letter acknowledging receipt of the resignation. We give the full text of Mr. Staples' letter here: "Ashland. Ore., June 27, 1912. "Mr. A. K. Ware, Medford. Ore. "Deur Sir: I beg to acknowltdge receipt of your letter tendering your resignation as chairman of tne repub lican county committee and same will no doubt be acted upon at our first meeting. "I urn very sorry that you did not suspend action and judgment a little longer and until you could make your decisii n and public announcement calmly and without reflection on the judgment and honesty of those of us who liold different (pinions. With out entering into a discussion as to the justness of the majority in the recent convention, or any of the for mer i lies, I hope you will agree that there could be such a tiling as an honest difference of opinion among men, and that there might yet be some 'broad-minded citizens' that would not accept the 'steam roller czarisiic methods' as altogether chargeable to the nominees of the last convention. "Some of us are willing to ac knowledge that we remember that heodore Roosevelt fitted up the 'steam roller' with new equipment, bored out the cylinders, and after gratifying himself with this im proved machine, which aided him in the temporary destruction of all op ponents, including Senator La Fol- lette, he stepped out of the cab and handed it over, saying, 'It's bully.' I now regret as much as anyone that he got in front of it.' He should have stayed at home, as he promised to do. Verily, it seems to make a dif ference whose 'bull Is gored.' "I would be glad if a man who. claiming to be so earnest as you to vard the best kind of government, would remain with our great party and helj) to cure evils in it instead of assisting to destroy it by bolting with only a chance to succeed. "As to the platform, which you seem to criticise, there are many of us who think we are 'broad-minded and progressive' that accept t he plat form as approaching, if not fully meeting, the requirements for best government. I hope you will also concede that some of us who happen to differ with you may at the same time consider ourselves 'decent citi zen, ' even though we may choose to ratify and support the republican nominee, and if you cannot support the republican nominee we will not venture to say you are not a decent citizen. Possibly in your calmer mo ments you may. by comparison, yet find that from among all of the evils we may choose the least by support ing the republican nominee. Cer tainly we must all concede to each other the right of his opinion and at the same time we should be careful in our final judgment and slow to condemn. It is a long time until election and there are many chances lor a 'broad-'iniuded man' to change an opinion that lie holds today, and many possibilities for the republican nominee to gain first place in I lie hearts of the voters by proving his honesty, ability and fidelity to the people. "With best wishes and hoping you will have cooled off before 'l meet you, 1 am, Sincerely yours, "IS. T. STAPLES, "Secretary Republican County Com mittee." CURE VOI R KIDNEYS.
