One firm handlinij ladies' ap parel claimed to have done an increased business of 300 per cent. They had anticipated a fal- remarkable increase in the sales of values marked for one dollar. The management was very much pleased with the results. One shoe store reported a 50 per cent increase on Dollar Day, with normal sales for the preced ing and succeeding days of the same week. One bank claimed a slight fall ing off of the deposits on the 23rd, but a marked increase on the following day, aim they also report a material increase in de posits for the balance of the week.
