The bridge at tho fourth crossing of the Sluslaw river Is now being swung, a GO foot glrdor having been placed. This leaves ono 250 foot span and n 100 foot span to bo swung nt this crossing. Threo more largo bridges niUBt be erected before reaching Maplcton. Thoy aro at the fifth and sixth cross ings of the Sluslaw river mid at Lako creek. At tho fifth crossing a 200 foot pin connection span will carry the rails across, while at tho sixth crossing two spans, ono to be 160 feet In length and tho other 100 feet, with a GO foot girder, will bo usod, Lnko creek will bo crossed with one span of 150 foot long. Tho rails are now to tho fourth crossing, and ballasting of the road hod continues. Thin Is fourteen miles ahovo Maploton. It Is expected that by the first of next week train service will bo ex tended to Hlchardson's. The pile driver and crow nro now on this side of Lake creek, having crossed Wodnesdny.
