Eugene Register. 200 Licenses. Over 200 hunters' licenses have been Issued since the 15th of July by The Gunnery, more than double the number that were Issued last year. Tho deer season opened the first of August and most of those who have secured licenses have gone Into tho hills in pursuit of a big venison. Reports from over the county are to the effect that deer are no more than ordinarily plentiful, bucks being very senrce. Several bags have been taken, most ly In tho hills of Curry County. Marshal Car ter notified him that street speaking wns prohibited except on Third street and tho city park, but Rev. Adams could not seo It that way. F. Miller today announc ed the appointment of C. B. Lnnders as local Joint ugent of the Portlnnd & Coos Bay Steamship lino and the Coos Bay. Roseburg & Eastern Rail road & Navigation Company. Mr. Landers succeeds F. T. Sheldon, who goes to Portlnnd to tnko a position with the Arrow Line.
