Tho bay was full of logs last week and men with boats wore busy catching thorn. A great many boxes of apples wore also cnught, but doubtless valuablo property has gono to sea. Wo havo not henrd of any stock being lost on Coos River. Tho water was six feet deep In Jap Yoakum's house nt tho forks of tho river nnd thero was also sev eral feot of water In W. D. L. F. Smith's house, as well ub In mnny others. Most all of those farms havo good high building spots nnd why buildings nro constructed bolow hlgh-wntor mark is n mystery to us. The water carried off nearly all tho fencing on tho river bank nnd covered tho orchnrds with drift wood. Tho largo boom, which contained upwards of 800 logs, on tho East Fork of tho North Fork, was car ried away, and tho logs aro scattered all over tho bay. Robt. Rooke's orchard was almost ruined, tho drifting logs breaking down most of tho trees. S. Ste ward's now residenco on tho Co qulllo was carried off, and hla or chard covcrod with drift wood. At Freedom tho water took possession of Robt. Lowo's storo and ho escaped through tho second story window, carrying nwny a portion or his goods.
