Tho tug Columbia, owned by the Simpson Lumber Company, Is expect ed hero within n few days. She has been repaired nnd will be used for towing over tho Coos Hay bar. Capt. Dcndcrgnrd, formerly of tho steam schooner Ilcdondo, will bring the Columbia up from San Francisco, but It Is not yet known whether he or somo other olllcor will be master of tho tug after she arrives. There nro no vessols nt North Bond, but four of the Simpson Lumber Com- pany lleot are expected any time. THE INCREASE -Postoffice Business Is Greater This Year Than in 1909. The receipts at tho local postofllco for tho month of July showed an In crease over tho preceding month. Tho total receipts for July were 1, 290.1G. December Is always a big month on account of tho Christmas business. During tho spring of the year tho postofllcc business Is gener ally heavier than Inter on In tho summer, tho total receipts ror eacn month of tho year so far as reported by I'ostmnBtcr Curtis nro as follows: January $1,524.80 February 1,011.23 March 1,277.07 April 1,251.21 May SO-1.75 Juno 932.43 July 1,290.10 Tho totnl for tho year so far Is quite an Increase over the total for i the same months of 1900.
