There was a good deal of betting on the game. The friends of- tho young team had their pockets lined ready to take up any offer of the other side, and their pocketbooks were pretty well cleaned out after tho game, but they took their losses with out a murmur. Tho "Young Bloods" went to bat first. Wright struck out tho first man at bat, who was Merchant. The next four made hits, but the baso running was poor and only one run was scored. Tho bloods held down tho old ones for three s laight in nings, Johnson doing some clever pitching. In the fourth Inning, tho old fellows made a rally and brought In one run. In the fifth inning, the young play ers broko loofe and got in three runs, putting tho game In u very different light and bringing forth yells .of en thusiasm. In tho tho sixth, tho old stiffs pulled themselves together, and it was here that Jack Snjder shlned. There wero two men on bases and Snyder was at bat. Ho drove- one to tho fence and brought In tho two men, but was caught at third. In tho eighth Inning the joungstors got in a run and this left the beoro 5 to 3, which made it look rather dark for tho old stiffs. Nasburg and Tower both made Hue hits, and two runs were tallied, which tied tho score. Then there was something doing iu the grand stand in tho lino of yelling. When it camo to tho tenth inning tho yougsters lost all hope of winning in that Inning by solus on. in one, two, threo order. When the eld stiff went to bat, Ffrrey walked to first, gottlng tho bao on ball Keane made a hit and wont to first. MeKeown made a hit and sent Keane to second, but Ker rey wm forced out on third. Keane and MeKeown made a double steal and wont to third and second. Thon Nasburg came to bat, lined a hit to centurllold and scored Keane, winning tho gauio. Tho "Young Bloods" wore probably not as well organized as the "Old Stiffs." Their bie running was n HUle short, and the old oues hold their hendi a Unn better. But both B'.dtw did ionie good plaMng.
