Gets Mnity Varmints Otto Epps who resides at Falrview is said to be the champion varmint killer of Coos county. During the winter, he killed 23 panthers, 3 wild cats, 23 bears and 33 coons. He has not been seen for several days and it is generally supposed that ho left tho country. His attorney, R. O. Graves, has not heard from him. Fishing rine D. Y. Stafford and I. S. Kaufman have returned from a few days at Ten Mllo whero they on joyed some unusually fine fishing, bringing back some dandy strings of trout. Mr. Stafford had been taking cooking lessons for a wdek or so be fore the trip as they had planned to "bach" It, but when they reached the summer home, Mr. Kaufman took hold of the culinary department and wouldn't let Dave near the stove or particular except to wash dishes. Tho latter was kind of disappointed at first but when he discovered tho delicacies that Mr. Kaufman could prepare, he was willing to admit he could wash dishes better than ho could cook. NORTH BEND NEWS Mrs. C. II. Weedman Is visiting her daughter at Bowdle, S. D. Mrs. Isemlnger and daughter, Lou ise, will leave soon for an eastern visit. P. E. Monroo is moving his house hold effects to Florence where he will make his home. R. B. Hazer and wlfo are rejoicing over their first born, a boy ,who ar rived Friday, May 13th. R. H. Plnkerton, of Oakland, Cal., is visiting his brother, J. H. Pinker ton, of North Inlet. Mrs. Ida B. Mitchell, of tho North. Bend schools, will leave soon to visit at her home in Ohio. Miss Ida Gamble of the North Bend schools, who has been quite ill, Is re ported improving. Miss Generva Smith Is teaching in her place. John Hill has been having a se vere attack of Lngrippo the last few; dajs, having been unable to attend to his regular work at tho machine shop. Hanson was called to Portland rtthls week by a message announcing the Illneas of his two young children who were enroute homo with their mother from a trip to Germany. The Epworth League Bible study 'ass of the Methodist Episcopal church of North Bend, met at tho home of Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Witto on McPherson street on Tuesday even ing. A most enjoyable hour was .spent in the study of tho lesson. Tho class manifested much Interest in the work. This clnss will meet at tho home of Mr. and Mrs. H. J.
