The Coquille Sentinel says: "The annual meeting of the stockholders of. the Coqulllo Valley Telephone Company which took place at the court house lastSaturday was at tended by over soventy-flvo stock holders and an enthusiastic meeting resulted. Tho business of tho day was conducted behind closed doors, so a complete report of the doings Is impossible, but that they had a good meeting and that the results were fully satisfactory so far as the work was completed was testified to by tho satisfied look on the faces of those who attended the meeting. "Tho officers and directors for the ensuing year wero elected and con siderable other business was trans acted, but the meeting was much shorter than was desired and much business 'was necessarily postponed owing to tho fact that the boats left bo early that the time was too short. "The officers are as follows: President, II. L. Stephens; Secretary, Frank E. Wlllard board of directors, H. L. Stephens, K. H. Hansen, Chas. Barklow, Georgo A. Morgan, 'J. D. CJinton, W. M. Kay and Frank E. Willard. "At the -present time this company has all the public farmer lines In the valley on their list of subscribers and there are but threo of tho private' lines still disconnected. Coos County Seat Eionts As Told By The Sentinel. Iz Dunham, connected with tho Noith Pacific Steamship Company which is operating tho steamer New port, arrived in Coquille the first of tho week and will remain for several days, transacting Important business for his company. Ed. Keone, registering from Ban don, Is in the city today. Mr. Keene will bo remembered as tho manager of tho Keene Company which spent several weeks in this section last year. Ho expects to remain in tho Valley for several months. C. II. Haughton, last week moved to Coqulllo from Arago, was arrested Wednesdav on the charco of wife beatln aud ,vas loce(1 in the city tho attention of tho prosecuting at torney rather than hear tho case In tho Recorder's court.
