Jas Merchant yesterday killed four geese and four ducks on the island. This is the largest number of geese that any lo cal hunter has bagged this season. The flight of geeso and ducks has been large the last twenty-four hours and a large number of hunters is after them. Now Trial Refused. Judge Coke has refused to the motion for a new trial In the case of P. K. Gettlns vs. Patrick Hennessey in which the verdict was adverse to Hennessey on the first trial. The attorneys In the case, John D. Goss for Mr. Hen nessey, and R. O. Graves and C. A. Schlbrede for Mr. Gettins, were no tified today. The Spanish American War Veterans met Inst evening at tho offlcc of It. O. Graves and perfected the temporary organi zation. It was decided to call the Coos Bay organization tho Owen Summers Camp in honor of the colonel of the Second Oregon Infan try. Twelve signed tho roll last evening, but there are thirty-five who are eligible and who will doubt less join. NOTICE.
