TC Property Owners Plan to Ex- tend Street Improvement, to Cold Storage. A movement has been inaugurat ed among the property owners on North Front street to extend tho bituminous rock pavement from Al der street to which point it has been ordered by the city council, out to the cold stprage plant. There Is a strong sentiment In favor of the pav- llng and Indications are that It will crystallzo into action at an early day. The great Improvement In appear ance and addition of actual value to property by this pavement as proven by the work already accomplished Is responsible for the enthusiasm with which the project is regarded by property owners. If this plan for paving all of North Front street sudceeds the work may be done before paving the sawdust flats. This change was oc casioned by delay In some of the property owners on the flat in slgn- ng up contracts. It Is to be hoped that paving on the flats will not be delayed too long as that section of tho city would be In bad shape If the streets are not Improved before thol-alny season. Former Secretary of the Treasury Cortely'ou is elected president of the Consolidated Gas Company of NejG York.
