Smith mill, went down the bay today to sail for Bay Point. She will piobably get out this afternoon. Elect Directors. The Finnish Co operative society last evening elected tho following officers for the ensuing year: Alex Johnson, John Bachman, C. J. Hlllstrom, Conrad Hagqulst, Jens Hansen and John Hillstrom. Thd directors will elect a new man ager to succeed Israel Lando. Hurt at Mill. A. Peterson, of South Marshfleld, was quite badly hurt at the C. A. Smith mill the other night. He was working on a new tramway and it collapsed, throwing him thirty feet to the ground. Ono of the timbers also fell on him. His condition is said to be serious. Aro Taking Census Marshfleld Elks are taking a census of the city to ascertain If there Is a population of 5,000 here, the -number required before a charter will be issued for a B. P. O. E. lodge in a town. It Is expected that the canvass will bo completed In a day or two, the city having been divided Into districts and enumerators assigned to each district. New Cooston School. The new school building at Cooston has just been completed and will soon be taken into use. The structure is 54x26 in size, 2 stories in height, 3urmounted by a tower, and is one of the prettiest school buildings In tho country. H. R. Masales and A. H. Eddy, of Marshfleld, were the builders. Bar Association Banquet. Messrs. J. W. Snover, L. A. Liljeq vlst and Tom Hall are making ar rangements for a banquet and meet ing of the Coos County Bar Associa tion to be held in Marshfleld, Jan uary 26. Tho meeting will bo at the I. O. O. F. Hall and will be for tho purpose of making the present touiporary organization permanent. The Marshfleld attorneys will enter tain tho visitors from the other towns in the county. AVaives Preliminary. E. C. An derson, of the O. K. Chop House, yes terday waived tho preliminary ex amination before Justice Pennock on the charge of obtaining money under false pretenses. He was bound over to tho grand jurg and his bond fixed at $500. Unless he furnishes bail to day, he will be taken to the county jail at Coqullle by Sheriff Gage. Clevlnger of the Marsh fleld Baptist church. Following the ceremony, a sumptuous repast was sorved. Tho bride was formerly cashier at the A. W. Keano Com pany, which played "Fabio Roraanl" Wednesday evening to a large and appreciative audience, visited tho eounty clerk's office and did the ne cessary talking to induce Clerk Wat son to give him a paper entitling him to wed Miss Margaret Shields, tho handsome soubrette of tho Keano Company, He was accompanied and assisted in this by Miss Nova West, the talonted leading lady of tho company, and J.
