"In treating pneumonia," says Dr. W. J. Smith, of Sanders. Ala., "the only remedy I use for tho lungs Is Chamberlain's Cough Remedy. While of course I would treat other symp toms with different medicines, I haTe used this remedy many times in my medical practice and hare yet failed to find a case where it has not con trolled the trouble. ' I hare used it myself as has also my wife for coughs and colds repeatedly, and I most willingly and cheerfully recommend it aa superior to any other cough remedy to my knowledge." It is roported that tho Chicago, Milwau kee and St. Paul Railroad Company has absorbed the Pacific Coast Steamship Company nnd will here after operate tho steamers of tho Pacific Coast Company's fleet. Harrlman is believed to be behind tho deal. Although Geo. H. HIgbee, general manager of the Pacific com pany at San Francisco, declares he places little confidence' in the re port, coast traffic circles are inclined to put some faith In tho current rumors. It Is predicted that if the St. Paul company has taken over the Pacific Coast Steamship Company there will be a general rejuvenation of the coast company which will result In a pace of progress which has not been set for threo years, or shortly after tho earthquake. Confidence Is expressed that with the formal taking over of tho Pacific Coast Steamship Company by tho St. Paul lino nttentlon will bo given the needs of the San Francisco-Eureka run along with the requirements of tho other Pacific coast routes. A dispatch from Tacoma, dated Saturday, speaks of the Pacific Coas,t steamers Umatilla, Queen, City of Puebla, President, and Governor, which aro running between Puget Sound and San Francisco. It also states that the itinerary of these 3hlps will be extended south to San Pedro by the railroad company, and that the Puget Sound terminus will be Tacoma, where dredging opera tions for enormous freight terminals aro now In progress. The Chicago, Milwaukee and St. Paul company now has three bran ches running wost from Chicago to ward tho Pacific, and is confidently looking forward to "the extension of the most northern of theso lines, which now stops at Butte, Montana, to Seattle and Tacoma. A middle line runs due west from Watertown. nejy Milwaukee to Rapid City in South Dakota, and a third line runs west from Chicago to Council Blufls near Omaha. It is thought that the railroad company will oxtend the middle line from Rapid City across Wyoming toOgden, connecting there with tho San Pedro, Lob Angeles, Salt Lake line. It will be noted in a glance at tho map that if theso plans are carried out, on their consummation tho Chi cago, Milwaukee and St. Paul line will. havo a system, shaped as a trl angle with the apex at Chicago and the base angles at San Pedro and Puget Sound, completod on tho coast through tho steamers of tho Pacific Coast Steamship Company. &k SIEIi It 4 w M m." w3!y Et IT- DO YOU WANT A BOAT?
