Three of the finest bear, hounds of the Harriman kennels at the Har riman summer home "Pelican Lodge," near Klamath Falls, arrived on the Breakwater for Col. Win: Grimes this morning. The hounds wre sent on order of Col. Holablrd In order that Col. Grimes and his friends may make try for big game In this section. It Is Mr. Grimes' In tention to organize a hunting party In a few days or so and go after bear, panther, etc. It is understood that the first party will be composed of Dr. B. Mlngus, J. E. Oren and Col. Grimes, the committee that held the conference with the railroad magnate regarding the building of the Coos Bay-Drain line. After a few hunts, the hounds will be sent by Mr. Grimes to the Gould ranch on North Coos River where they will be used and cared for by Mr. Gould. The hounds are very valu able and highly prized ones, and the understanding Is that they will be .forwarded for Mr. Harriman or Col. -Holablrd whenever they wish to "hunt big game In Oregon. A. W. Baker, the Portland passen ger agent of the Breakwater, also came down this trip for a little out ing and to get closer in touch with Coos Bay. He has always been an ardent admirer of this section. He says business is Improving and. be lieves that the business, both freight and passenger, betw.eon Portland and Coos Bay will grow rapidly from now on.
