Adaress All Communications to COOS KAY DAILY TIMES VlarsliHeld Oregon RICH WITHOUT MONEY. If one Is too large to be measured by the dollar mark, or to be enclosed in his estate; if the wealth of his per sonality has overflowed until all of his neighbors feel richer for his life and his example; if every foot of land in his community is worth more because he lives there; then the loss of his property cannot materially shrink his inventory, says the Suc cess Magazine. If you have learned to be rich without money; if you have, by the -cultivation of your mental powers, .gathered to yourself a treasure of in destructible wealth; if, like the bee, you have learned the secret of ex tracting honey from the thistle as well as from the rose, you will look upon your losses as mere incidents, oiot so very Important to the larger raid fuller life. It gives a sense of Immense satis faction to think that there is some thing within us greater than the wealth we acquire or our material pursuits; that there is something about us better than our career, bet ter than life-getting, money-getting, fame-getting; that there is something "which will survive the fire, the flood or the tornado which sweeps awaj our property, which will survive de traction, persecution, calumny; some thing that will outlast even the disso lution of the body itself. That is, nobility of character, the sweetness and light which have helped people, "who have made the world a little better place to live in. 'There is something within us that protests agnlnst our having our most precious possessions at the mercy of accident or uncertainty. We have an jnnato assurance that, no matter what happens, nothing can possibly injure our real selves or destroy our greatest riches our grandest posses sions. There Is still a voice within . us -which tells us, that tho true life is beyond the reach of anything that can harm It or rob it of one lota of , its substance. This feeling of security, this as suranco of stability and of possessing that which no power can shako, gives a satisfaction beyond all words to ex jpress, imparting to life its truo dig nity, and grandeur. Does it not seem strange that men will put all their ability, their energy ifor a life-time, into piling up tho wealth which may bo destroyed In .an hour, whllo they mnko almost no effort to accumulate tho wealth of .character, the riches of a large, com ploto manhood, of unselfish service, .of culture, riches which survlvo all disaster, which no Are can touch, no ..earthquake destroy? m N W Germany Will Not Name Baron Von Sternberg's Successor For Few Weeks.
