Carter located Harry Rlchter, tho plumber who jumped, a.$3.0 .board bill at the Arcade restaurant, in Jackson county and through Sheriff Wilbur A. Jones of Jacksonville ,has adjusted tho matter without bring ing Rlchter back. Cloudy Sur veyor Gould and Viewers Grlflln and McKay are at work on the old Cooa Wagon road between Dora and Fair view. They expect to relocate most of tho old road and put it on a bet ter grade. As the work will take them several weeks they will camp out along the road. School Directors Blect. A largo number of school directors met at Myrtle Point yesterday to discuss tho welfare of the public schools of tho county. It was stated that more than one-half of the directors in the coun ty were present. State Superintend ent J. H. Ackerman, and County Su perintendent Bunch met with them. It is proposed to hold regular meet ings of tho directors In the future. Worked In ailne. Robert Mars den, Sr., of aiarshfleld, was much In terested In the report of tho explo sion In tho Maypole coal mine near Wigan, England, this week. Ho work ed in the mine for years until ho came to America twenty-one years ago next month. All of his early life was spent at Wigan and he and Mrs. Marsden were married there. ainny Henr Impersonator. A fair sized audience greeted W. Eugeno Knox, the Impersonator, at the I. O. O. F. Hall Thursday evening and wero delighted with tho entertain ment. Mr. Knox was introduced by R. A. Copplo who had, arranged jtbo entertainment under the auspices ot tho W. O. W. lodge. The numerous other entertainments detracted from tho attendance and the event was worthy of a much larger audienco than enjoyed it. Wedding Licenses. The following marriage licenses wore granted tho HARRY McKEOWN arrived yester day from Hlbblng, Minn., to look over tho Coos Bay country, which Is to bo his future home. He Is a partner of E. D. LaChance ot Hlbblng and tho two have made a long term lease of the now $75, 000 Chandler hotel, which is un dor construction here. Mr. ..Mc Koown Is an old friend of A. H. Powers and Jake Goldle. He la much pleased with the prospecta and says that Coos Bay is a better placo than Mr. LaChance pictured to him.
