While no de finite arrangements have been made, It is expected that Mr. Cake will make at least one public address here, probably taking Statement No. 1 as his theme. Rush North Bend School. Ab raham Van Zile and Superintendent a. u. uaao as representatives of the North Bend school board are mak ing a tour of Oregon cities to secure ideas for the new $40,000 school building at North Bend. They will be absent about two weeks. It Is announced that the school board has decided to accept the site donated by L. D. Kinney. MRS. DR. C. W. TOWER and daugh ter, Miss Nellie, who joined tho Coos Bay visitors to view the fleet in San Francisco, will remain there visiting friends for a few weeks. GEORGE FARRIN and Prof. Ball spent Sunday on Kentuck Inlet in quest of trout. Just how many fish they got is not known, but they have a fine line of fish stories. DR. GEO. E. DIX and E. D. Mc ARTHUR spent Sunday in a pleasant outing trip in the Ten Mile country. They took their tackle along and what happened to the fish will take many days to tell. Scandinavians are cor dially invited to attend. , That Happy Feeling Comes of Dining at Smith's Cafe Try it DEATH AT NORTH BEND. Norman Jackson, tho four-year old son of Mr. and Mrs. John H. Jack son of North Bend, died late Sat urday of pneumonia. About a week ago, the little fellow was taken 111 of whooping cough and had such a severe case of it that he was unable to withstand pneumonia which devel oped Thursday. Ho becamo so 111 that Friday and Saturday, until his death,- ho suffered frequently from convulsions. Tho funeral services were held at tho Presbyterian church Sunday, tho Rev. J. E. Burkhart of ficiating. Six small boys of the Presbyterian Sunday school, class mates of the deceased, were the pall hearers. Burial was at Marshfleld. Tho floral tributes were numerous and beautiful. In addition to tho bereaved parents, a brother and a sister survive. J. L. BOWMAN arrived from Port land Saturday to superintend tho installation of his elegant new clothing store In the Coos build ing. The stock has arrived and fixtures are being placed in posi tion today. CAPTAIN ALFRED MATSON' and son, Frank, have gone to San Francisco to see the fleet. It will be remembered that Captain Mat , son served with Admiral Evans In the Civil War and' re'scued him when Mr. Evans, then a petty of ficer, was wounded at Fort Fisher. CHAS. W. COOK and wife of Casper, Wyo., are on Coos Bay looking over Its possibilities. They are old friends of E. S. Bargplt. They plan to go from hero to' Eureka and other southern points, but may decide to return hero and locate.
