Sinclair who came from Wyoming to look into tho coal situation in Coos and Curry counties, has completed his Investigation and states that he will shortly either purchase a mino or open one somewhere on Coos Bay or its inlets. Messrs. -Kitler and Nosby leave this city Saturday for Portland where they will remain for two weeks attending to busi ness affairs. W. S. His many friends are giving him the glad hand shako all being pleased to have him back again on Coos Bay. Extensive Work Now Under way on Line to Coquille and Myrtle Point. Extensive Improvements In tho railroad between Coos Bay, Coquillo and Myrtlo Point are now underway and when completed will mean that the lino has been practically been re built. Upwards of ?30,000 havo been expended for work already dono and a large sum moro will bo re quired to complete tho work project ed. Tho road is being reballasted, tho track In the low places being raised and new trestles and bridges put In. it was tho first thought to raise tho track in tho Coquillo valley above tho high water lino but' this was found impossible. Howover, it will require unusually high water to affect it hcnccfoith. Superintendent C. J. Millls of tho O. B. II. & E. Ry. and Nav. Co., Is anxious to get tho road In tho best posslblo shape as early as possible. There has been gossip to the effect that tho road would extend Its lino further north Into tho business sec tion of Marshfield this summer, por- naps doing this by removing tho coal phuto along tho bay north of tho depot and using tho place for a road heel and moving tho depot to near what is now tho north end of tho chute.
