MISS WILSON, of North Bend, spent the day In Marshfield attending to business affairs. JESS LUSE left Marshfield yesterday for Coqulllo, where ho will' remain a visitor for a few days. MRS. MARSHAL CARTER and two children left Friday to visit friends in Allegany and vicinity. MISS GERTRUDE KITTSON and her brother, William Kittson, aro quite ill at their home on the East Side. MISS EMMA JACOUSON nrrived a few days ago from tho Siuslaw, and will visit her mother, Mrs. Hunter, of North Bond. MR. and MRS. FRED CROSBY, of Marshfield, spent th eday on Coos River, as the guests of Mr. and Mrs. George Wltte. MRS. SYLVESTER COSTER, of this city, departed this morning for Portland, where sho will visit a short time with her children. MESSRS. SAM COKE, BEN WILLEY and CHARLES McCULLOUGH left tonight for North Inlet, whoro they will remain over Sunday fishing. MRS. ALFRED JOHNSON returned 'to her homo in Coqulllo today, af ter having been In Marshfield for some time receiving medical aid JAMES MURRAY, a Southern Pacific employe from Mojave, Cal., Is oa Coos Bay for a short time as thv guest of Mr. J. W. Carter of this i-lty. GUSTAF GUSTAFSON, commonly known as "Sengstacken," left Marshfield yesterday for Astoria, where he will from now on make his home. MRS. JOHN DUBELL DIES AT GENERAL HOSPITAL Wife of Former Mall Driver and Well Known Citizen Succumbs After Long Illness. Mrs. John Dubcll, of Allegany, died this morning at jtho General Hospital after a long Illness. Sho had been In a critical condition and her life was despaired of for somo timo past. Besides the sorrowing husband, sho is survived by one son. Mr. Dubell Is well known on tho Bay, having been a mail driver for a number of years. Mrs. Dubell waa born at Roseburg, Oregon, and waa 37 years, three months and fifteen days old. The funeral services will bo held Monday, March 1G, at 3 o'clock at the Baptist church. Tho Rev. D. W. Thurston will officiate. Friends and acquaintances aro Invited to nttend. The photo business of the Walker studio will from now on be transact ed at the gallery, Rogers building room 11. MISS IRENE HUMBERT, of East side, drew and painted several very pretty postals, which wero distrib uted among various friends and ap preciated greatly. MISS EMMA JACOBSON arrived in North Bend a few days ago from the Siuslaw, and will remain for somo time as the guest of her mother, Mrs. Hunter. F. REEB, of the California Notion and Toy Co., of San Francisco, ar rived recently on tho Plant and de parted this morning for tho Co qulllo country and Bandon. PERCY PRATT, of North Bend, was the guest of S. C. Steckles of Mil Hngton on Thursday. Before re turning to his homo Mr. Pratt will visit relatives on Ross Inlet. ' LAWRENCE JENNINGS, of East side, left Marshfield yesterday for Remote, Oregon, where ho will visit for some time as tho guest of his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Fetter. MISS LILLIAN McCANN, of North Bend, passed through Marshfield Thursday on her way to Eastsldo, where sho remained through tho day as tho guest of Mrs. Rueben Cavannught A. H. POWERS, of tho Smith-Powers Logging Company, left Marshfield Thursday by way of Drain for Min neapolis,, where ho will attend to business affairs and also visit with friends for a fow weeks. Mr. and Mrs. Dale have been on Coos Bay for the past eight months, and made many friends, all of whom greatly regret their departure from Coos Bay. HARRY HARTMAN, who has been spending tho Inst two months on Coos Bay, departed this morning on tho Breakwater for Portland, whoro ho will remain for a short tlmo, thonco going to Alaska to remain there through tho summer. Mr. Hartman will return to Coos Bay next Septembor. NELS EKBLAD, of tho firm of Ek blad & Son, of Coos Bay, departed on tho Plant for Minneapolis, by way of San Francisco. From Min neapolis Mr. Ekblnd will go to his old homo In Evansvlllo and remain thoro through tho summer, return ing in tho fall to Coos Bay, accom panied by his family. MESSRS. JAY TOWER and FRANK MARTIN returned to Marshfield Thursday evening, having spent a fow dnys on Coos river, Improving Dr. Tower's summer cottago and Incidentally fishing.
