The Tacoma Herald says: "The hop growers in the Valley -want 2.S00 pickers this year, to commence September 1st." The population or Klicitat county, TV. Sorcc of the farmers in the Willamette vallev think there is a wheat ring formed I and forming in Oregon, made up of ship-' pers, millers and warehouse men, and they are not slow to express their opinion. There is a plan on foot among the farmers to pool their grain and bold it till the ring is broken. Badlt Hckt. The relatives in this city of Agent Xonteith, or Lapwai Indian agency, have Just received the intelligence that he has been hurt internally by being thrown from a borse. He had accom panied General Howard part or the way over the Lolo trail, and was returning, when the accident happened. He was taken to the agency to receive medical treatment, and although soma better when the letter was written, was still confined U his bed. The following is a brief statement of the contents or the memorial to Congress for assistance to the Salt Lake railroad: 1. That the land grant on the north branch o the North Pacific be transferred and applied on the Salt Lake line. 2. That the Xorth Pacific shall be built on the ulh side of the Columbia from Portland to the junction of the Salt Lake road with the Columbia. 3. That from the junction of the two roads to Portland it shall be a common roan tor uoiti lines. 4. Tliat if the Xorth Pacific does n it build this common line on the Columbia within a specified lime that the Salt Lake line shall do so.
