The Recorder submitted a statement of the account oft the late.Street; Commission er Fehely, which was read and accept ed and ordered on file. On motion of Mr. Wilson, the Recorder was directed tD notify Mr. Fehdy's sureties in regard to his default and liability; the said Fehely stands 'charged on the town book! with $1,877. The following bills against the tows were presented? P. Boschey, Street Commissioner's bill, $49, forworkioa cross walks; Wm. The resolution reported last meeting to adopt the new town plat .was taken np and passed, ordering the same to be filed in the County Clerk's office and recorded. On motion, Wilson, .Neil, and Fisher were appoint ed a committee to'draftahd report an ordinance declaring all traveled streets of .the town public highways. The subject of graveling certain streets came up, and specifications were sub mitted to gravel part of Third, Fourth, C and D streets ; they were adopted, and the Recorder was directed to pub licly advertise andjnvite proposals for the same. On motiorfof Mr. Neil the rales were suspended to receive an ap plication of J. Plattner to purchase lot number l in block 63 ; also an applica tion jof M R. Ish, signed by his agent, I Ish, and his attorney, Mr. Fay, for title deed to said lot number 1, block 53. The applications were read t and referred to Neil and Fisher. "Board adjourned to the 16th inst. fl VOLUNTEERS. , A law has just passed authorizing the payment'of the Oregon volunteers of 1854, commanded by Captains Jesse Walker and Nathan Olney ; and a bill is pending, with a favorable re port, to pay Captain Hathaway's com pany of Washington Territory volun teers. I will remain in Washington until these claims are settled, and I would be pleased to make collections . for claimants at reasonable prices. - B. F. DOWELL. Ball at Benedict's. Judge Ramage overruled the demurrer, in consequence of which the Board of Education appealed to the Supreme Court.
