S Within two days' time last week $5,000,000 worth of 6 per cent, gold bonds of the Oregon Pacific company, placed on the market in New York and Philadelphia, were all taken, and this alone shows that the first mortgage bonds of this company are no drug on the mar ket. With this amount of money the work on the eastward exten sion can be pushed rapidly, and a connection made by 1890. To Water Consumers. 1st All persons intending to use water for irri gating lawns or sprinkling streets must report at the office or to the superin tendent, 21. All persons who have had faucets put in for their own use, must prohibit others from using- from them or their hose. If water is allowed to be used an extra charge will be added or ;lie water turned on. ora. No person shall use water for other purposes than that contracted for. 4th. All persons wishing to use water must give notice to have it turned on, If they wish to discontinue notice must be given to tuin it off or charges will continue to be made monthly. 5th. The use of water for irrigating lawns is prohibited, except between the hours of 6 and 9 a. m., 4 and 9. p. to.
