The contest against the executrix of the Louis Roy estate was being heard Monday and Tuesday before .Indue Cornelius. A considerable array of witnesses was present for each side and the taking of testi mony will not be concluded until Saturday. An attempt is now be ing made to break the will, and much evidence was given to the ef fect that deceased was of week mind at time of making the will. Of course there are those who swore that hit mind was strong and that he knew what he was doing. One peculiar fact in connection with the case is that the two witnesses to his signature came down and "published" the will when it was entered for probate, now come into court ond swear they knew not what they were doing. As they are men of average education, it looks as though they were very careless to have made affidavits to something of which they profess to lie ignorant Notice to Patrons. It will be remem bered that Kirk wo d was cited to appear before the county judge, and execution was issued to collect tax es on notes held by him, but which, he says, were held by parties in trust outside the state. County Judge Cornelius made an order Saturday last, placing un der the care of the Boys' and Girls' Aid Society, of Portland, the two remaining minor children of Henry Becker. Some of the little fellows who are in the habit of riding on freight cars at the depot while the crew is switching will yet gel severely in jured, if not killed.
