A special excursion will visit the SDrlngs today from The Dalles. This Is for the benefit of the firemen's fund, and promises to tax the capacity of the steamer Tahoma. The Dalles band will accompany the excursionists. Sev eral fishing parties visited Lakes LU seme and Constance In the week, and returned well-laden with the trout which are plentiful In the mountain streams. Snow still remains on the mountains on the Oregon shore, and may be seen from the height back of the hotel. Twenty large tents have been set out In two rows on the. grsssy slope of Sunset Beach close to the fresh water lake. Water mains have been laid, supplying walnr to each tent. The tents are large, and are mounted 'on board platforms, and are fully equipped with every housekeeping convenience. Plans have been drawn for Sunset Beach pavilion, which Is to be built overlooking the surf. The pavilion Is to be no by So feet, and will be used as an amusement parlor and dance pa vilion. A new store has been opened by C. N. Bowers at Sunset Beach, and campers there can obtain their supplies without being compelled to go to Seaside or As toria, as formerly. Mra Abble L. Frankel. formerly of St. Louis, has completed a nine-room bungalow. Several other bungalows are planned for immediate construction. The present owners of Sunset Beach. Keasey, Humaaon St Jeffery, plan ex tensive Improvementa at Sunset Beach the coming Fall and Winter, with the Intention next Spring of having it form ally opened aa one of the most modern and most desirable resorts within easy distance of Portland.
