USE NEW ORGAN FIRST TIME The new bishop of the Protestant Episcopal Church of Oregon, Rev. Charles Scadding, as is already known, hits offlcially designated St. Stephen's Church, corner Thirteenth and Clay, as the pro-cathedral, renaming the church St. Stephen's, the Martyr, and appoint ing the rector. Rev. H. M. Ramsey, as vicar. In this connection improvements throughout the entire building are con templated and taking place. One of the first to be considered was better and more adequate means of rendering the beautiful music in connection with the Episcopal service. Already having a very efficient choir the lack of a pipe organ was keenly felt, and it was de termined to obtain one at once. Upon due investigation and a careful con sideration of the merits of various makes. Rev. Ramsey and his associates reached the same conclusion that has been reached so many times in this titv already, and contracted with Eilers Piano House to furnish them a mag nificent Kimball Duplex Tubular Pneu matic Pipe Organ. The organ has just been installed by the above house and will be used In today's service for the first time. In this connection it Is a notable fact that this is the ninth Kimball Pipe Organ to be contracted for by Eilers Piano House in the city of Portland alone, and the seventeenth in the state of Oregon. An almost equal numben of the-same make has been sold In the states of California and Wcsnington. among the recent ones being a large three manual dtvided organ for the First Presbyte rian Church of Berkeley, and a large three manual extended Reydesk and Console for the new First M.
