WIFE SUES DEFENDANT Woman Asks Divorce From Man She Charged With Non-Support. Edith J. D. Holt yesterday beg-an suit for a divorce from Isaac E. Holt, who was arrested early In the week on his return from Seattle and charged with non-support. Holt was before Presiding: Judge Tazwell In the afternoon and entered a plea of not guilty. The case was continued until he could make an adjustment with his family. Mrs. Holt, In her ble) of earning; $300 a month. She ( said that in his absence she was harassed by creditors. East man, desertion: Lovanche Learned desertion. POLICEMEN PUCE CHARGES MISAPPROPRIATION OF WHIS KY BASIS OF ACCUSATIONS. Officers Huntington and Russell of Morals Squad Most Appear Bc .lore Efficiency Board. Patrolmen Huntington and Russell, of the- police morals squad, will be tried before the police efficiency board tomorrow morning on a charge I of stealing 24 quart bottles of whisky which they confiscated In a raid. Evidence against the officers was submitted to Chief of Police Jenkins by Lewis Emera, 22, and William S. Gilbert, 25, who are in the county Jail for alleged bootlegging- operations. In affidavits signed by these men, Hunt ington and Russell took 39 bottles of whisky from them during a raid on October 19. They also got two re volvers, the affidavits allege. According to the records of the po lice bureau, the patrolmen turned in but 15 of the 39 bottles and never turned in either of the revolvers, it is charged. Huntington has been on the police force since 1911, and Russell since 1912. They have been members of the morals squad at irregular Intervals for several years. Published reports that he was in any way implicated in the alleged whisky theft were denied last night by Joseph Beeman, federal prohibi tion agent Chief Jenkins also announced that Sergeant Ellis, in command of the morals squad, will be called before the police efficiency board at the same time to tell anything he might know of the charges against his two men. Sergeant Ellis has been on the force since 1905 and has been in command of the morals squad for about three months. HARDING TO GET APPLES Hood River Man Will Send Box as Christmas Gift. HOOD RIVER, Or., Nov. 10 (Spe cial.) No Oregon citizen is following incidents of the election of Senator Harding to the presidency closer than is W. H. McClain, .local furniture dealer, who for many .years was en gaged in business in Marion, O. Mr. McClain, who now also owns a west side orchard, for more than ten years was a tenant of the same building with Senator Harding.
