Colt, president of the) Rose Fes tival Association visited the Royal Rosarlans at their monthly meeting yesterday and discussed with them plans for their participation In the festival. The Rosarians are to be the escort of honor to the queen and are to supervise the fitting out of the royal coach. There will also be Rosarian band and 30 out-rlders to serve as an escort to the royal coach. The new constitution and bylaws of the Rosarians were adopted yesterday. and assignment of roses to the dii ferent knights were made. Each mem ber of the organization is given a rose .nd is pledged to grow and cultivate that particular rose. Fires Thought Incendiary. The second fire In two days to endanger the two-story building, formerly oc cupied by the Brown Portable Eleva tor Company, at 601 Goldsmith avenue, was discovered about 1 o'clock yes terday morning, and hasty work by Engine Company No. 8 extinguished It before much damage was done. Early Sunday morning Patrolman Nel son discovered a blaze in the second floor of the building, and summoned lire apparatus. The blaze was started by hay and paper, and had burned holes in the floor. Yesterday morn ing's lire was in the first floor and had been started with kindling. Both are believed to have been incendiary. Shattucx Sitb to Be Discussed. All property owners who are in terested in the selection of the pro posed site for the new Shattuck school are urged to attend a mass meeting to be held under the auspices of the outh Portland Boosters' Club at the St. Lawrence Hall, Third and Sherman streets, Thursday night. The club will go over the proposals submitted to the School Boa'rd and several other new proposals will likely come up. School Director Plummer has been invited to be present and address the meeting. A meeting to consider the proposal of residents of South Portland to extend Fourth street southerly from its present end about a mile and a half to the Taylor's Ferry road will be held today at 4:30 o'clock In the Coun cil chamber at the City Hall. City Commissioner Dieck and City Engineer Dater will be present. Residents of the South Portland and Fulton dis tricts have been considering the ex tension for some time past and have held a number of meetings to arouse Interest in the plan. Father-in-Law Case Dismissed. Because F. Foles wanted his father in-law. Fred Fox, to take care of his family, the charge of larceny pre ferred by Foles against Fox was dis missed in Municipal Court yesterday. Foles had charged - his relative with steallng.a lawnmow'er which they used In common but which Foles said he owned. Mrs Augusta Ruttingh petitioned yesterday for her appointment as executrix of the estate of her husband Charles Rut tingh, who died March 3, leaving an estate valued at approximately S5000. Another petition was filed by Emerson E. Wells, asking for his appointment as administrator of the Oregon estate, of his wife, Mrs. Ethel M. Wells, who died in San Diego, Cal., February 11, 1913. The estate is valued at approxi mately $300. The estate left by Mrs. Wells in California has been admin istered and the executor discharged Meter Bids Opened. Bids for fur nishing a large water meter to measure the supply of water passing from the Mount Tabor reservoirs to the Peninsula districts, were opened yesterday by Commissioner Daly. Th lowest bid was J1097 submitted by the faimplex Valve Meter Company, The meter to be purchased will measure as much as 20,000.000 gallons of water in 24 hours. When the third projected meeting of the Police Pension Board, composed of the Mayor, the City Treasurer and the Chief of Police, failed to be held yes terday, threats of legal action to com pel the enforcement of the act which created the Board and the pension fund were made freely at police headquar ters.
