March 9. (Special.) That a. majority of the state will be represented at an Industrial congress of school children to be held at San Francisco during tho Panima-Pacific Kxpositton is assured. The plan whicn was suggested by J. A. Churchill, State Superintendent of Schools, has met with the approval of many superintendents of other states, and Mr. Churchill has assurances that they will co-operate. Mr. Churchill wrote to various state superintendents several weehs ago, ask ing that they send winners in the school industrial contests to the pro posed congress, explaining that pro grammes could be arranged for boys and girls of the various states detail ing their experiences in preparing ex hibits. .. . . "In nearly all the states," said Mr. Churchill today, "the departments of education have answered, indorsing the movement and many have offered to co-operate in arranging for Oie indus trial congress. The industrial work in some states is being directed by O. H. Benson, of the United States De yartment of Agriculture, and these states do not wish to pledge themselves to sending their winners until Professor Benson sanctions the plan." Montana. Hills New Steamship Line Just now, before the new California steamships, plying1 between Astoria and San Francfsco, are put on, we have a few lots we will sell for one-third what adjoin inj? lots have sold for. These lots are close in to the business center of Astoria, with city water, electric lights and more than 100 fine dwellings in front of them. Kvorv lot is 5uxl0 feet, with streets 70 feet wid Good streetcar service close to the lots that I am offering for $1 "0. Who wants these lots at that price on easy terms? Itiempmbor that Astoria is the seaport for Oresron, and they are now arransinf? to spend millions of dollars on seawallb, jetty, municipal docks, Columbia high way and other public work. The title is perfect to all of these lots. J. J. Hill railroad fin steamship interests will make Astoria a city of loo. 000 popula tion within a very short time. I am poin to sell these lots at $ 150 each, notwithstanding it is generally known that they are now worth four times that price, and within a short time there is no doubt but that they will sell for ten times the price I am now ask ing, but they must be sold new without delay.
