Over 150 delegates from every part of Western Washing ton are in attendance, and the confer ence, which ia held only once every fouj- years, promises to be one of the best in the history of the district, A feature of today's programme was an address by Carrie C Van Orsdall, grand , ..... , n.-.l.. J guaiuidu, Ul I I 1'iXIIU- Gearhart Conference Closes. GEARHART, Or.. June 2". The work of the Young Women's Christian Asso ciation conference here was completed yesterday. The last two days were particularly busy ones. Among the good things saved for the last was the review, by Mrs. Stephen Penrose, of Whitman College, of the biennial con vention, which was held in Richmond, Va., in April. At that convention Mrs. Penrose was chosen president of the National Young Women's Cnristlan As sociation for two years. The confer ence was unfortunate in the weather, which was too wet for out-of-door sports. Eugene Issues Voted Pown. EUGENE, Or., June 27. (Special.) Citizens today, by strong majorities, but with a small vote out, decided against adding a small building to the present high school -equipment and against the purchase of a new tract submitted by the Board with the view to building a new high school. This brings a long-contested problem back nearly to the starting place. Damage Suit Unique. ABERDEEN, Wash., June 27. (Spe- CLASSIFIED AD. RATES Daily or Sunday.
